2013 Wooten & Watkins family reunion

Hello Family.

Thank you for your patience concerning the 2013 Family Reunion details. The dates for the upcoming reunion are August 2 -4, 2013 at Glade Springs Resort in Glade Springs, West Virginia (near Beckley).

LODGING :This resort is known to fill up by Springtime with a slew of summer (August) golf reservations. We ask that you contact our resort coordinator, Michelle Meadows at 866-657-6297 to secure your reservations by Feb. 15, 2013.

(Executive Suites)

The cost for an Executive Suite for three nights is $357.00, which includes all taxes and fees. This cost includes our arrival on Thursday evening and checking out on Sunday afternoon.

A $200 deposit per room is needed to secure the booking. The Executive Suite sleeps up to 4 people. Each has a private bedroom with a king bed, refrigerator and microwave, a luxurious bath and a separate parlor with a pull-out sofa bed. The resort suites have been completely renovated with flat screen TVs in both the parlor and the bedroom, all new furnishings, fabrics and carpet.

(Rental Homes) A GREAT OPTION!

To get the FAMILY REUNION DEAL on the resort rental homes we need to book at least 10 rooms in the houses. So we need to book both six bedroom and four bedroom homes.

For example one family could book the six bedroom home (it sleeps 12 adults) for $1,066.62/night. Another could book the 4 bedroom home (sleeps 8 adults) for $711.81/night. There is a $300 deposit per house. These prices include breakfast. Remember we will be staying for three nights.

WHAT WILL IT COST? If you book the 6 bedroom home with 12 people staying there, the cost breaks down to $266.66 per person for the weekend (arriving on Thursday evening and checking out on Sunday afternoon). That is only $89 per person, per night. What a deal!

If you book a 4 bedroom home the cost breaks down to $266.92 per person for weekend. That cost averages out to $89 per person, per night.

If we don’t book at least 10 rooms total when booking a home we do not get the special rate and the fees jump up to $935/night for the four bedroom, and $1371.71/a night for the six bedroom. Please secure your reservation with a DEPOSIT by no later than Feb. 15, 2013. This resort is known to fill up fast by springtime and we don’t want anyone without a place to stay. Please note that the committee has no control over how quickly the property fills up.

FOOD: This resort is not all inclusive and offers several restaurant options to choose from. I’ve included a list of the restaurants and their price points. Please be advised to budget the following amounts per person for meals each day: breakfast $12pp, lunch 20pp, and 30pp for dinner. Feel free to make adjustments according to your own diet needs.

Glades Italian Grille. More of a high-end restaurant. Entrees start at $15 and go up to $26.

Small Talk Café: Great place for coffee, tea, scones, sandwiches, pastries.

Bunkers Sports Bar: Entrees start at $13. Items include salads for $9, pizzas $15, and baby back ribs, $15. They also serve other items such as Pork Osso Buco, Three Meat Meatloaf, and Grilled Jerk Chicken. Yum!

Family Activities

We will have a family activity planned everyday. But there are additional activities you may want to consider during your personal time. Here is a list of other items for your consideration: Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine Tour, Rock Climbing, Repelling, Geocaching, Paintball, Laser Tag, Daniel Vineyards Wine Tour, ATV Tour, Whitewater rafting, Ziplines, Tamarack Shopping, Spa treatments. Glade Springs Resort also offers tons of golfing and passes to visit the Greenbrier Resort.

Transportation: The resort does NOT offer shuttle service to and from the airport. So you will need to either take a taxi or have a family member pick you up. The Beckley airport is only 5 miles from Glade Springs. Charleston's airport is one hour away from the resort.

Airfare: Please secure airfare on your own. We will depart (8/4/13) on Sunday . Check out from the resort is at noon.
